| 内容記述 | タイ東北部は、全国的に見て農業従事者が多く、植物利用の伝統が他の地域よりも色濃く残っているとされる 。しかし、急速な経済発展と近年進行しつつあるグローバル化により、農村において世代を通して受け継がれてきた植物利用の知識が消失していくのではないかと危惧されている。このような状況下で、地域社会の植物利用の実態を検討するため、タイ東北部のカーラシン県・マナオ村のホームガーデンにおいて聞き取り調査を行った。ホームガーデンにおける植物の主要な利用法は、食用・薬用・観賞用の３種だった。薬用植物の大部分は、森に自生していたが、近年は、森に薬用植物を採集しに行く人が減少し、薬用植物の必要性は薄れつつあることが明らかとなった。しかし、現在ホームガーデン内で栽培されている薬用植物は、祖父母などから世代を通して受け継がれたものであり、知識は比較的維持されていた。また、先祖から維持されてきた知識に加えて、新たな薬用植物に関する知識とその活用が無視できない割合で見受けられた。これは、政府の政策の影響もあり、村人の間に薬用植物に関する興味が高まっていることを示している。 | |||||

| 内容記述 | As many people still engage in agriculture in Northeast Thailand, it is considered that the tradition to use local plant resources can be seen in more occasions and places than the other areas. However, there is a growing apprehension that the indigenous knowledge, which has been utilized and transferred from one generation to the other, is disappearing affected by rapid economic development and globalization. Under these circumstances, we carried out the surveys on home gardens in Manao Village, Kalasin Province, Northeast Thailand, in order to clarify the present status of plant utilization in local society. Major modes of utilization of plants in home gardens in this village were edible, medicinal and ornamental uses. Most of medicinal plants had been grown naturally in nearby forests, but recently few villagers visited the forests to gather them, indicating the decline of relative importance of medicinal plants, whereas the knowledge on those grown in home gardens was succeeded from the former generation and well maintained. In addition to the succeeded one, the knowledge newly obtained from various sources and its practical uses were observed in non-ignorable occasions. It may indicate the increasing of interests on medicinal plants among villagers, partly because of the influence of government policy. | |||||
