| 内容記述 | この報告では、モノと情報班の活動目的を、以下の3 つの観点から整理する。（１）東南アジア生態史における物質文化の重要性を考察すること；（２）生態史を、さまざまな要素の組み合わせから成り立つ複雑なシステムとして理解すること。そこには、地球規模の気候変動や、社会経済的なグローバルトレンドの影響、環境や公衆衛生に関わる国際的ならびに地域的な諸政策、貿易と通信、民族集団のエートスなどが含まれる；そして、（３）マルチメディアアーカイブの構築を通して、人間知識の協働的な生成という調査研究スタイルを確立することである。 上記の目的に向けて、モノと情報班では、（１）博物館所蔵資料データベースの構築、ならびに（２）ユニークな情報検索・表示機能を備えた、マルチメディアアーカイブの構築に取り組んでいる。後者は、生態史におけるさまざまな要素間のダイナミックな相互関係をとりだすためのツールを目指している。その基本構想は、現在、生態史プロジェクトでこれまでに蓄積されてきた報告書・資料にもとづく、時空間統合型データベースの実現に向けた議論のなかで具体化されつつある。 |

| 内容記述 | In this report, the objectives of activity of the Group "Material Culture and Information" is summarized in terms of (1) the importance of material culture in eco-historical study on Southeast Asia, (2) the eco-history should be understood as a complex system composed of many factors such as (a) global climate condition, (b) social and economical global trend in that area including international projects for development and aid, (c) international and local policies relating to environmental, social, and public healthcare, etc., (d) trading and communication, (e) ethos/pathos, or stiffness/plasticity in ethnic group, and so on, (3) the importance of research style of sharing and collaborative creation of human knowledge by developing multimedia-archives for all kinds of data and documents. Based on these objectives, the Group is trying to develop (1) databases for materials and documents collected and stored in many museums and institutions, (2) multimedia archives of many kinds of documents and data for investigating the dynamic mutual relationships among various factors embedded within complex system of eco-history, with a unique information retrieving and visualization mechanism in both space and time dimensions. The basic concept and ideas are introduced together with discussions for realizing the practical time-space integrated archives based on reports and documents accumulated within the Eco-history Project until now. |
